Information for students and teachers
The Mission website is intended to provide timely information on Australia's participation in the work of the United Nations, as well as links to other sources of information relevant to our engagement in the UN system.
We hope that the site also serves a basic gateway for students interested in learning more about Australia's relations with the UN, our priorities, and our positions on a range of multilateral issues.
For more information on Australia and the United Nations, and other aspects of Australia's foreign and trade policy, see the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) website.
For more information on Australia's participation in the UN's activities in other centres, for example in the fields of science, technology and outer space, see the websites of the Australian Mission to the United Nations in Geneva and Vienna respectively.
You may also wish to explore the range of other websites of Australian Government departments and agencies which have UN related interests, for example, Australia's Agency for International Development (AusAID), the Department of Defence, Environment Australia and the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs.
These sites and those of other departments and agencies can also be accessed through the Australian Commonwealth Government entry point.
For those students with particular interest in Australia's parliamentary system, our constitution and Federal legislation, the Australian Parliament website provides a useful resource.
For more general information on Australia, you may wish to start by visiting the website of the Australian Embassy in Washington D.C. or the Australian Consulate-General in New York.
