Internships
During the annual United Nations General Assembly (September - December) the opportunity exists for three Australian citizens to undertake voluntary internships at the Australian Mission to the United Nations on a self-funded basis. Applicants should possess relevant qualifications and background, with preference being given to those completing graduate programs. Prior exposure to, or demonstrated knowledge of, the United Nations system is highly desirable.
Applications for the 2008 Program have now closed. We will begin accepting applications for the 2009 Program from 1 Jan-30 May 2009. Click here for further information on the program and application process.
The Australian Mission also appoints youth representatives each General Assembly. The role of the youth representatives is to speak on behalf of fellow young people and voice their concerns and priorities to the UN General Assembly. Two youth representatives for the 2008 General Assembly have been appointed. Click here for more information about the 2008 youth representatives.
